Louis N Weckstein, M.D. has been on the staff at the Reproductive Science Center of the San Francisco Bay Area since 1990. He has served as the Medical and IVF director since 1997.

Dr Weckstein received his undergraduate and medical degree from the University of Michigan having been accepted into the 6 year combined pre-medical/medical program. He completed his OB Gyn residency at the University of California, Irvine, serving as Chief Resident in 1983/84. After establishing a busy OB Gyn practice in Southern California and finding his favorite part of OB Gyn was taking care of patients who were trying to conceive, he went back to the University of California, Irvine in 1988 for training in infertility with one of the most successful IVF teams in the country at that time.

Dr Weckstein has particular interest and experience in all aspects of IVF, including Egg Donation and fertility in older women. He loves his job and is very appreciative to be able to work in a field where so many couples have been helped to achieve their dream of having a family.

Dr Weckstein is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a member of the Society of Assisted Reproductive Technology and the Society for Reproductive Surgeons. He has served on the Board of the Pacific Coast Reproductive Society and was a past California representative to the National Advisory Council of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine. Dr Weckstein has authored more than 60 publications and abstracts in the field of infertility, and serves as a special reviewer for the infertility journal Fertility and Sterility.
