Wayne S. Maxson, M.D. is one of the first reproductive endocrinologists to practice in Florida. He opened the Northwest Center for Infertility and Reproductive Endocrinology in July 1986, in Margate, FL.  The practice has grown from a solo practice to eight physicians, and in 2000 the name was changed to IVF Florida Reproductive Associates. 

Dr. Maxson is a highly skilled physician with over 30 years experience in obstetrics and gynecology and 24 years of experience diagnosing and treating the causes of infertility. He is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, and currently serves as a Voluntary Associate Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Miami School of Medicine 

A native of Pennsylvania, Doctor Maxson completed his under graduate work at Princeton University receiving an AB degree in 1971.  He received his medical degree at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in 1975.  He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at St. Barnabas in Livingston, New Jersey, in 1979, and went on to complete a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Duke University, in Durham, North Carolina, in 1981.  

Doctor Maxson is widely published and holds several unique patents for gynecological procedures including patents on micronized progesterone and a surgical device.

Doctor Maxson is experienced in all areas of assisted reproductive technologies including in vitro fertilization (IVF) and embryo transfer, superovulation, and intrauterine insemination as well as endoscopic surgery.   Clinical interests include treatment of recurrent miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, diagnosis and treatment of endometriosis, and hormone replacement therapy.
